Small Force, Broad Territory
The Community Guard operates as a small territorial constabulary with limited personnel, rather than a constantly present police force. Its jurisdiction extends across Northudankton, but its members cannot be everywhere at once. The Guard emphasizes local familiarity, responding to reported matters, and practical public assistance.
Routine patrols are light and intermittent. In ordinary circumstances, the Guard generally aims to complete a walk around the territory at least once every two weeks, as personnel and conditions permit. Additional inspections or responses may occur when conditions warrant.
During a Routine Patrol
- Observe the general condition of roads, paths, and public areas.
- Identify hazards and infrastructure concerns.
- Assist persons encountered when reasonably possible.
- Document matters requiring attention or referral.
- Address suspected violations within lawful authority.
Between Patrols
Members may receive incident reports, review information, communicate with citizens, and coordinate follow-up. A period without an active patrol does not mean continuous observation is taking place elsewhere.
The 000 reporting channel offers a means to reach the Guard between visits, without implying round-the-clock dispatch coverage.
